Hedy

*We will not be hosting adoption events on Saturday, October 24 or Saturday, October 31. Private adoption appointments for individual animals will be available to pre-approved applicants from October 19 through November 1.*

Meet Hedy! Half Chow Chow, half teddy bear, and every bit as huggable as her brother (Horton). Hedy is a touch more slender and delicate, with the same soft, fluffy coat and calm, sweet nature. She’s happiest close to her people and will happily trail you from room to room.

Hedy has already proven herself to be a champion sleeper, settling in on her first night in a new home without a peep. She’s been remarkably quiet so far and has adapted quickly to her new routine. Potty training is also off to a great start. She understands the pee pad and gets right to business when taken outside. She hasn’t shown much interest in chewing, already knows “sit,” and has been gentle and patient with young children. Hedy also has one particular talent: she genuinely enjoys bath time. Splashing, scrubbing, and fluffy towel drying are all met with cheerful patience, which is a pretty convenient quality for a fluffy pup!

She’s food motivated and eager to learn, with just enough puppy clumsiness to keep things entertaining. Hedy is still mapping out her playpen and occasionally forgets exactly where the door is, but she’s learning fast. If you’re looking for a loyal, snuggly companion with a big heart, sweet disposition, and an unusual appreciation for bath time, Hedy may be your girl!

Hedy is a 2-month-old mixed breed who was rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $600 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, and spay. Hedy is also tested with other dogs, cats, and children. She is working on potty and kennel training in foster care. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if she might be a good fit for your home.

The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals.

We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!)

Please note, adoption applications are processed within 1–2 business days. Adoption applications cannot be processed onsite at adoption events.

Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525).

For additional questions regarding meeting this dog please contact us via text/email at 970.699.6772 or contact@bounceanimalrescue.org. We apologize for any inconvenience, but due to a high volume of inquiries, calls and voicemails regarding adoption will not be returned.

Thank you for choosing adoption!
