Heath's Story
****PETronus Rescue endeavors to include all pertinent information for each of the dogs within our organization with regard to approximate age, potty training status, kennel training status, temperament, activity level, dog/cat friendliness, etc in an effort to give those considering adopting as much information as we have. It is likely that we do not have the answer to any other questions, but will do our best ****

Meet Heath!

He was saved after being seen thrown from a van on a busy Houston toll road during afternoon traffic. Since then he has been in rescue for 2 years searching for his forever home.

He is part snuggle bug, part goof and a little bit of a wrecking ball. He is estimated to be 5 years old and lives to earn his hoomans affection.

Heath is ideal for an experienced home that has a soft spot for bully breeds. He knows all of his basic obedience commands such as sit, stay, down, leave it, and place. He is also fully crate trained but can be trusted outside of the crate when home alone.

He thrives when given patience, routine, and structure and has a guardian that will advocate for him. Heath doesn’t mind being the only dog, but with proper introductions, he can do well with a female fur friend.

While he can be cautious about new things he loves going on adventures. He absolutely loves car rides (preferable with the windows down), beach trips, boat rides, and hikes.

Fetch and tug are his favorite games, but when he is not playing he loves hanging out on the couch and snuggling (he is the best snuggle bug).

Check him out on TikTok: @HTXfostermom
OR
See more pictures here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10106442588153835&type=3

THE BASICS:
- approximately 5 to 6 years old
- 50 to 60 lbs
- female dog friendly; no small dogs; could do well with a submissive male and a confident handler (that will be considered on a case by case basis)
- Not suitable for apartment living or dog parks, will do best in a home with a backyard.
- people-friendly (with proper and slow introductions)
- but plays too rough for children
- not cat friendly
- housebroken
- crate trained
- up to date on rabies, distemper/ parvo, and bordetella
- microchipped
- neutered
- heartworm negative
- eligible for transport to approved adopters in other states case by case bases

All PETronus Rescue dogs receive basic vaccinations (distemper/parvo, bordetella, & rabies), spay/ neuter, and microchip prior to adoption. We also treat any know medical issues, including heartworms.

Our dogs live in foster homes while they wait patiently for their forever families to find them. This is beneficial in that they learn house manners, crate training, housebreaking, etc while they wait and we are also able to get a very realistic picture of their energy level, temperament, etc so that we can place them in a home that is the best fit.

Our adoption fees are $200 for dogs over 1 year of age and $250 for dogs under 1 year of age. Puppies receive 3 rounds of puppy vaccinations.

If you are interested in adopting one of our amazing dogs, please fill out our adoption application here http://bit.ly/PRAdoption and we will be in touch!
