Hazel's Story

AN INQUIRY FROM PETFINDER IS NOT AN APPLICATION! READ THE ENTIRE POST FOR INFORMATION HOW TO APPLY.

Meet Hazel! Hazel is a 2 year old female poodle and she weighs about 10 pounds. Hazel arrived in rescue after being surrendered to a shelter and being very scared. She has settled into foster care and is starting to thrive and is ready for a forever home. Her foster mom says: Hazel is a sweet girl that wants to be next to you at all times. All she wants is love and to be pet. She knows that your hand is what pets her so she will try to put her head under your hand or paw at you for pets. When left alone, she is in the hallway with a baby gate up and a potty pad. I don't know how she would do in a crate. She walks well on a leash; she is doing great with potty training on a schedule. She would do well with somebody that works from home so she can be let out a few times throughout the day. Hazel is a very shy and skittish girl, so she does need somebody that is willing to work with her and build her confidence. She would do well in a home with no loud noises and not a lot of comings and goings. She does get frightened easily and will hide. She enjoys being with another dog her size, another dog may help build her confidence. She does bark to say hello to other dogs and people on walks. She would love a home with a yard since she loves to run around outside. Hazel does sleep in the bed at night and loves laying with you on the couch watching TV. She loves playing with toys as well. She is learning some tricks like sit, shake, and kisses. When she is excited, she does show her teeth to smile at you! If you have a kind heart and some patience, Hazel may be the girl for you.

Hazel is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and has had his teeth cleaned.

Hazel is fostered in the Orlando area and her adoption donation is $450. If you are interested in applying to adopt Hazel, please visit www.floridalittledogrescue.com to read the adoption process and complete an application! Please note that emails simply asking "Is this dog available" will not be returned, as applications are worked in the order received and availability largely depends on when you apply:) Please also know we do not adopt out of state! Thank you!
