Miss Hazel Mae is a beautiful 2 year old American Bulldog mix. With a face that will warm your heart, she’s a solid 62 pounds but is still as petite as they come with a quirky little under bite! Her gorgeous face shows both sides of her personality – playful AND loving. She will give you kisses until you’ve had enough and then she’ll roll over for a belly rub! Poor Hazel was found abandoned, tied to a tree in Central Park last September. She was taken to the shelter, where she was quickly adopted. Unfortunately, a family member suffered allergies, and she was returned to the shelter last week. Well, Hazel deserves so much more out of life than being discarded at a shelter, and we have committed to finding her that wonderful FOREVER family she is so desperately in need of. This sweet loving soul will give you her complete heart, and frankly she deserves the same in return. Hazel has no food or toy guarding, and is learning to love treats, and takes them very gently. She has a nice quiet bark that she uses only when she hears someone at the door – perfect to let you know someone’s there to visit her! Hazel gets along with most dogs, an active large submissive male would be the best match for her (her current best friend is a 10 month old Newfoundland!) She loves to wrestle and is very exuberant in her play. Hazel tends to fly through the air like Wonder Dog! Really! You have to see it to believe it. She knows sit and listens well to corrections. She is crate trained and 100% housebroken. She needs some additional training, like learning more commands, and how to walk nicely on a leash. She is great in the car, and loves to ride shot gun, making a great companion for running errands with. Sweet Hazel is wonderful and loving with children (she did great with my 3 & 4 year old sons), but I would suggest dog savvy kids that can keep their balance if she reaches up to give kisses. In her foster home she is allowed to sleep on her mistress's bed, sleeping like a log all night long. She also likes to cuddle on the couch with her while watching TV. Hazel has not been tested with cats for any length of time, but when she was over for a visit at my house, she saw one of mine and she just looked and kept on walking. She is truly a wonderful dog and everyone who comes into contact with her is just charmed by her sweet bubbly personality. Hazel has been vaccinated for distemper, rabies and bordatella and is spayed and microchipped.
