Hazel's Story
Hazel is an approximately 9–10-year-old spayed female Great Dane who has officially earned the right to take life at her own pace. Hazel came into rescue alongside Granite after their owner passed away. Now in the care of Big Hearts for Big Breeds, this sweet senior girl is looking for a comfortable forever home where she can soak up the sunshine, enjoy her people, and simply be loved.

Hazel is wonderful with people and kids, and if you ask her, the perfect day involves finding the sunniest spot in the yard and settling in for a good, long nap. She has a wonderfully easygoing personality and isn't looking for a busy schedule—just a soft place to rest and people who appreciate a laid-back Great Dane.

Hazel was previously described as not being good with other dogs, but her history tells us there may be more to the story. She lived contentedly with another male Great Dane in her previous home and has already had successful, slow introductions with a foster dog in rescue. We believe Hazel may simply need thoughtful introductions and the companionship of calm, appropriately matched large dogs. As always, we'll continue to learn more about her and set her up for success.

At this stage in life, Hazel deserves a home that understands that senior dogs have a special kind of magic. She has so much love left to give and would be perfectly happy spending her golden years lounging in the sunshine and keeping her favorite people company.

If you're looking for a sweet, sun-loving Great Dane who has mastered the art of relaxing, Hazel might be your perfect match. Big Hearts for Big Breeds can't wait to help this beautiful girl find the peaceful, loving forever home she deserves.
