Hazel's Story

Apply to Adopt Me!<br/>Hazel is a sweet female feist mix who’s 1.5 years old, weighs 23 lbs. and is ready to find her forever family. This girl is truly the whole package. Hazel absolutely loves other dogs—big or small—and has also met cats, so with the right introduction, she could likely live happily with other furry friends, too. She’s house trained, crate trained (is excited when she’s in the crate in the same room as you), and has completed a board-and-train program, giving her some pretty impressive skills. Hazel has excellent leash manners, a solid recall, and knows her place/stay. She sleeps peacefully through the night in her crate, although the second her people wake up, she is READY to be part of the action! Hazel is a fantastic car rider and loves people. She can be just a tiny bit shy for approximately 0.25 seconds when meeting someone new, so older kiddos may be the best fit for her. Once she warms up though, she’s never met a stranger! And toys? OH, SHE LOVES HER TOYS. She’s playful and fun but is also happy to share. Hazel is a wonderful medium-energy girl who would love to go on adventures with her family, but she’s equally content spending a cozy day at home. But what really makes Hazel special is her heart. She is the kind of dog who seems to have been put on this earth simply to fill someone’s life with love. She loves with her entire heart and soul and wants nothing more than a family she can call her own. Hazel is ready. She’s ready for the adventures, the couch cuddles, the car rides, the toys, the bedtime crate, the lazy Sundays—and most importantly, her people. All she needs now is someone to realize that she’s been waiting to love them forever. Hazel is heartworm positive at this time, and is on the slow kill protocol, which we can explain that process to any interested applicant. She can enjoy regular activities. Heart worm disease is contracted from an infected mosquito and can not be transmitted to another dog. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Hazel, complete an app and tell us more about your family.
