Hazel's Story
Hazel is a young Jindo mix who was taken into a kill shelter in Korea when she was under one year old. Our rescue partner in Korea believes that Hazel might be abandoned by her family, or an escaped dog. Although she was still a puppy, she was already pregnant, and later gave birth to a total of six puppies in the shelter. Hazel is Peanut's mother (our other adopted rescue - https://www.petfinder.com/dog/peanut-55498291/bc/richmond/carried-through-animal-rescue-and-education-bc185/).

Hazel is currently in a foster home in Korea. She is awaiting for her flight to Canada to start her new journey. We have a foster home in place in the Richmond area, but would love to be lucky enough to find a “foster to adopt” home, so Hazel can immediately start bonding with his new family.

Hazel was very anxious and panicked when she was rescued, but later warmed up to her rescuer and accepted touching in a few days. Hazel's adopter needs to understand she will need time to decompress after arrival. Her new family needs to be patient and be prepared to help her learn and succeed. Hazel is rough with cats so we do not recommend cats, small animals, or young children for her new home.

Slow introduction is required for Hazel to meet new people and dogs. Hazel loves her current foster, and gets along well with the other dogs in the shelter, as well as the Jindo mix in her current foster home. She generally does well when greeting new friends if slow and proper introduction is ensured.

Hazel will need to bond and train with you before she can be safe and trusted off leash. There are many local sights sounds and smells that can spook new dogs that we don’t think about. She walks well on leash and does not pull.

AGAIN - An adopter should be prepared to provide positive and supervised socialization experiences. Please realize though Hazel is adorable, she will be a lot of work to grow to be the best good girl.

Hazel is currently about 1.5 years old and 12.5 kgs (approximately 27.5 lbs). She is spayed and microchipped.

Vaccinations are up to date:
- DHLPP, Corona, Influenza, Kennel cough
- Rabies
- Parasite control UTD w/ Panacur & Frontline.

Hazel has been taking Heart Guard every month since she was rescued.

Our adoption application is here:
http://carriedthrough.com/dog-adoption-application.php

We may not have time to respond to all inquires. Priority is given to those who contact us via a complete adoption application. Thank you.
