Sometimes the road to forever takes a detour...<br/><br/>Hazel thought she had found her happily ever after, but that does not seem to be the case. Its a crushing blow when this happens, but especially when it happens to a pup like Hazel. Her past has left her fearful of humans and over the past 6 months she has bonded with the adults in her home, although it took her a while to get comfortable with the men in the home. Starting over new is going to be absolutely devastating, but unfortunately that is the decision that has been made for her. <br/><br/>This 50lb chocolate lab mix is just about a year old. She is skittish in new environments and with new people, so a family will need to understand that a decompression period is essential. Hazel is a great companion to other pets. She currently lives with a kitty and canine friend. Unfortunately when she met children for the first time today she snapped at them, which is why she has been given her walking papers. This girl has a very fearful personality to begin with so we would not recommend a household with children or a chaos. Her start to life was less than ideal, and we are hoping this is just a bump in the road to her happily ever after. Hazel needs someone she can trust, someone that will give her the time and space to open up, and the stability of a good life. She truly is an excellent companion once she feels safe and comfortable.
