Hazel's Story

Hi there! My name is Hazel and I am one fun pupper if I do say so myself. I love, love, LOVE people, and balls, and water hoses, and rolling around in the grass. I mean, I cannot get enough of it. Toss me a tennis ball and I promise you won’t get it back. What’s that you say? Do you want the ball back? Good luck. You might get a piece of it! Or pieces! It depends on whether or not I get distracted by something els... WHAT WAS THAT OVER THERE?!?!?

Seriously though, I know it seems like I have a lot of energy, and I do love to see you when you’ve been away for a while, but I can be chill too. I promise. Just let me sleep in the big bed and you’ll see. I might root around under the covers for a minute, but then I’m passing out and you might have a tough time getting me up in the morning!

I do have a bit of food aggression with other dogs, but to be fair, that food is MINE. As long as you make sure no other doggo tries to take my snacks we’re all good. I have no issue if you humans take it or move it around, but no other dog is getting my food.

I prefer to be an only dog, or with another submissive dog. I have done fine with others that are my size or larger. I only have an issue with the one small, problem child doggo in my foster home. The others are just fine because they don’t bark in my face!

I do have some interest in this cat thing that lives here. He has good snacks too, although the humans say I’m not supposed to have any. Kids are cool too. They share their snacks!

My favorite thing at the fosters’ home is the big fenced-in yard though. I can get a LOOOOOONG running start to fly by foster dad with the remnants of that tennis ball. I do love to throw on a harness and head out on walks too. Being out and about is great and in public settings, I’ve never had an issue with another dog!

Want to meet? I promise I’m cool. I might even lay in your lap and stare deeply into your eyes making you uncomfortable until you finally give in and... HEY WAIT! WHERE IS THAT TENNIS BALL?!?!

They say I am around 7 but we really don’t know. I’m UTD on my shots and HW free! I am spayed, walk we on a leash and am crate/house trained.

An adoption fee of $250 includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, flea and heartworm preventatives if appropriate, and all necessary medical costs while in our care.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please email Familyadditiondogrescue@gmail.com to request an application. **We typically respond within a few hours.
