Hazel's Story

Hi, everyone! My name is Hazel and I’m 3 years old. I’m a beautiful, petite girl at 51 pounds, but don’t let that fool you -- I am very strong. I am obsessed with any ball and my favorite thing is playing fetch. I’d play ball 24 hours a day if my foster mom would let me. Sometimes I fall asleep with my ball in my mouth, because I just don’t want to put it down! I am sweet as can be and have very good manners. I love leash walks so much that sometimes I pull when I get excited, but my foster mom just says “go easy,” and I know that means I need to slow down. It’s so much fun walking trails at the park because there’s so many animals, people, and dogs I can smell. At home, my favorite things are snuggles and pats.

I’m great at making other dog friends when I’m outside, but at home I need to be the only dog. I’m just not fond of cats or other animals in the house. I’m an excellent passenger if you want to take me everywhere you go. I behave and never get car sick. I’m a very good girl and I always finish my breakfast and dinner. I love snacks, and I learn fast if treats are involved.

I’m very good at letting you know I need to go outside, and I can pretty much potty on command. I do have to take medicine every day, so I don’t accidentally pee when I’m in a deep sleep. I get really embarrassed when I wake up and find out that I had an accident in my sleep, so please don’t forget to give me my medicine. My foster mom talks real sweet to me so I know it’s ok, and it’s not my fault.

I do enjoy having a crate, so I can rest when my foster mom is working from home. I go to doggy day boarding when she goes to the office for work. I like it there, but I get scared when there’s a lot of dogs in the playground. I love sitting on the screened porch and looking out the windows for birds and squirrels. If you are looking for a smart dog that loves to play ball, ride in a car, go for walks, and cuddle then I’m your girl!
