While Hattie has done well with kids, she would definitely prefer a more mellow home, maybe with older kids. My name is Hattie McHoneysuckle, and like my name suggests, I'm a little bundle of sweetness looking for a garden where I can bloom. I came to TAP from a rescue in Mexico, and I've settled right in. I adapt quickly because all I really want is a cozy routine and people to love!<br/><br/>I may be in my golden years on paper, but don't let that fool you-I still have plenty of pep in my step. At just 8 pounds, I'm the pawfect pocket-sized companion. My foster family says I'm the ultimate Velcro dog because my favorite place is wherever my people are. If you're looking for a loyal sidekick to keep you company during the day and snuggle at night, I might just be your dream girl.<br/><br/>When I'm not cuddling, you'll find me enjoying my favorite activity- walks! I do beautifully on leash, don't react to other dogs, and love getting out and about. Sirens? Passing dogs? No problem! I currently live with a 50-pound Border Collie and get along wonderfully with him. I've even met cats and barely gave them a second glance.<br/><br/>Despite being a mature lady, I still get adorable zoomies and love playing chase around the house. Toys can be a little tricky, but if you tap your hands on the floor, I'll happily try to "catch" them. And if our walk happens to include a Starbucks pup cup? Well, that's just the cherry on top of an ideal day.<br/><br/>I'm potty trained and do great with routine. I may occasionally need a little extra patience when it comes to potty breaks, but I'll get there! I'm also crate trained, though I prefer having a little gated area with my comfy bed and pee pads where I can relax while my humans are away.<br/><br/>I've met young children and done well, though I think a calmer home with older kids would suit me best. If someone gets a little too handsy, I'll let them know with a bark and move along. No drama here!<br/><br/>My ideal furever home is one filled with love, cuddles, and plenty of together time. Someone who enjoys having a tiny shadow would be a dream come true. While I'd love a person who's home often, I've done very well with my foster's work schedule and a midday walk. Most importantly, I'm looking for someone who will cherish me as much as I'll cherish them!
