Meet Harvey – The Ultimate Family Companion!<br/>Harvey is a lovable, low-rider sweetheart with a heart of gold and a serious love for people—especially kids! This 1-year-old, 47-lb Lab/Pit mix may look big in photos, but he’s actually short, stocky, and perfectly built for snuggles. <br/>
Harvey has truly shown how adaptable he is. While his regular foster was out of town, he stayed with a “vacation foster” and absolutely thrived with three young children. He has consistently been gentle, patient, and affectionate with kids of all ages, making him an ideal family dog.
 He does take a few minutes to warm up to new people, but once he does, you’ll have a loyal cuddle buddy glued to your side. Harvey loves being close to his humans and is happiest curled up next to you on the couch.

<br/>Harvey is currently in foster with 8- and 11-year-old boys who are helping him polish his skills. He already knows Sit, Wait, Down, and Roll Over, listens well, and takes treats very gently. <br/>He recently had a professional training session with Sit Means Sit training in Leesburg, VA and did fantastic—he’s smart, eager to learn, and very responsive. His foster will continue working with him, especially on leash manners (he’s strong and still learning!).
Harvey would love a forever home with a fenced yard where he can run and play. If you don’t already have a dog, regular playdates would make his tail wag just as much.
<br/>His journey:
Harvey arrived in Loudoun County on 2/16 after being rescued from an overwhelmed shelter in Atlanta, GA (housing over 400 dogs). He spent two months in a loving foster home there to decompress—and it shows in his calm, affectionate nature.

<br/>Include your veterinarian’s contact info and call them to authorize a brief vet check.<br/>

Approved applicants will be contacted to schedule a meet & greet/home visit
