Harvee's Story
Welcome Harvee!
Harvee is available for adoption.

Harvee almost lost his life simply because his family "didn't have time for him anymore" and did not want to provide him with the necessary medical care.

When Harvee's owners brought him to a local veterinary clinic, they wanted euthanization as their only solution - not rehoming, not contacting rescue. Thankfully, the veterinary team saw what we see a wonderful dog who deserved a second chance. The clinic convinced the family to surrender Harvee instead, provided medical care and then reached out for rescue support so he could find the loving home he deserves.

And we're so glad they did.

Harvee is an easygoing, affectionate lab mix, approximately 7 yrs old and 50 pounds, who would make an incredible family companion. He's great with kids, gets along well with other dogs, and has a calm, laid-back personality. Whether it's hanging out in the yard, going for a stroll, or simply relaxing beside you, Harvee is happy just being part of the family. Harvee is housetrained, not a picky eater at all, does great in the car and is a pretty typical leash walker - great on leash until he sees a strange dog and then gets a bit excited but easy to manage.

Harvee does have hypothyroidism, but it's easily managed with medication and doesn't stop him from living a happy, normal life.
The vet office he was surrendered to also provided him with a much needed dental leaving him with only 6 teeth. Harvee had mouth ulcers from an allergy to the tartar in his mouth. He didn't need to be euthanized, he just needed medical care.

Great with kids
Good with other dogs
Easygoing and affectionate
Low to moderate energy
Looking for a family to call his own

The only thing on Harvee's wish list? A home without cats, as he thinks they are far too much fun to chase.

Harvee's story could have ended very differently. Instead, he's been given another chance.

Now all he needs is someone willing to say, "You're wanted here."

Love Has No Expiration Date.

Harvee is in foster care in Youbou.
If you would like to meet him, please apply for Harvee on our website here www.nadrs.org/adopt

Only approved applicants can meet any of our available dogs because they are cared for in private foster homes.
