Haru's Story

Meet Haru!
Haru is a 5-year-old sweetheart with a gentle soul and a playful side. He absolutely loves his toys and will happily entertain himself or invite you to join in the fun. When it's time to head outside, Haru is more than happy to go on long walks and enjoys getting out to explore at a comfortable pace. Haru has lived with cats and truly enjoys their company; he even likes to play with them! He does, however, resource guard his food from cats, so feeding should be done separately to keep everyone comfortable and safe. He has not previously lived with another dog, so if a canine sibling is in his future, a slow and thoughtful introduction would be important to set him up for success. When left alone, Haru does very well in his crate. His crate is his safe space, and he finds comfort there, making him an easy companion for households that value structure and routine.
Overall, Haru is a very sweet, loving dog who would thrive in a calm, caring home that respects his boundaries while giving him plenty of affection, playtime, and walks. He's ready to be someone's loyal best friend.
Haru does live with glaucoma, a condition that affects his eye pressure. He currently receives eye drops twice a day to keep him happy, comfortable, and visual.

Cheyenne Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
As Wyoming’s largest animal adoption agency, CAS has the widest selections of cats and dogs, rabbits, small mammals and more in Wyoming. Visit our shelter today, or visit Adoptable Cats, Adoptable Dogs or Working Cats to view pictures and profiles of all pets in need of homes! Visit our website to see available animals or visit the adoptable animals at the Cheyenne Animal Shelter. We have three large dog adoption rooms, “cat alley” and critter space. While visiting the Cheyenne Animal Shelter, a CAS adoption counselor will help you find the pet who is the best match for your family and lifestyle. Once you find your match, a Cheyenne Animal Shelter staff person will begin the adoption process, which often takes as little as an hour. Once you have reviewed all adoption paperwork, you’ll pay the adoption fee. Then, you’re ready to take home your new furry family member.
