Hartley's Story

Hartley needs someone with a really big heart.

This three-year-old, 18 lb scruffy Terrier mix came to us from a local shelter. She and multiple other dogs were removed from a home where they were being neglected. All of the other dogs found placement quickly but Hartley wasnt chosen because of her fearful demeanor. Time was running out when one of our foster moms decided to take a chance on her. Hartley has been with that foster for three months now. Shes had time to get healthy and decompress. In many ways, Hartley has made great progress but she is still a shy, quirky girl. She will require patience, gentle handling and time to acclimate in her new home. It takes her a while to trust new people but once she does she loves them with her whole heart. Once she feels safe, Hartley is quite calm and easygoing. She now readily seeks out attention and affection from her trusted caregivers.

Hartley has some great features. She is housetrained and she gets along well with other dogs. She likes to go on walks and she is absolutely adorable. We believe Hartley would thrive in a quiet, adult-only home where there is little to no foot traffic. This gal is a homebody and she would be a perfect companion for someone who also enjoys the comfort and familiarity of staying home. Hartley is ready to be someones couch buddy and best friend. She is fully vetted -- spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and current on vaccinations and deworming. The adoption fee is $300. We accept payment in the form of cash, CashApp and Zelle. You can apply to adopt at https://sohfga.com/dog-adoption-application/.
