Harry's Story
Meet Harry: "Just Call Me the Don"

Age: 11
Weight: 9 lbs
Breed: Yorkshire Terrier
Fostered in: Green Bay, WI
Occupation: Alleged businessman. Definitely not involved in anything illegal.

Harry may weigh nine pounds, but make no mistake: This is his neighborhood.

At 11 years old, Harry has entered his mob boss era. He’s seen things. He knows things. He has people. And by “people,” we mean whoever is currently holding the snacks.

Harry came into rescue after his owner could no longer care for him, and he is now accepting applications for a new family willing to provide the lifestyle to which a gentleman of his stature has become accustomed. Requirements include food, loyalty, soft bedding, and absolutely no funny business.

Don Harry Runs a Tight Ship. Harry is completely housebroken. Not one accident. Because a boss has standards. He knows sit and come, although whether he chooses to comply may depend heavily on what you’re offering in return. Harry is sweet, playful, loving, snuggly, and deeply committed to supervising every move you make.

He is not clingy. He is simply keeping tabs on the organization.

Protection Services

Harry takes security very seriously. Noise outside? BARK. Suspicious movement? BARK. Dog on television? BARK BARK BARK. Cat on television? Fuggedibouit.

Real-life cats appear to be acceptable, but television cats are clearly involved in something shady and Harry intends to get to the bottom of it. Harry is a talkative gentleman and believes silence is how empires fall.

About the Crate

Harry is crate trained. Technically. But putting Don Harry in a crate will result in an immediate and strongly worded complaint. He may spend several minutes barking to remind you that a man of his importance should not be behind bars. Eventually he settles down. Because even mob bosses need naps.

His Crew

Harry gets along well with dogs both bigger and smaller than he is, which is good because nearly every dog is bigger than he is. He would actually love another playful dog in the home. Consider it expanding the family.

He has eaten and taken treats peacefully around other dogs and has shown only minor resource guarding with humans—a toy once and a bone once. The bone has since disappeared under mysterious circumstances. We are not asking questions.

The Food Situation

Harry's hobby is competitive eating. There is currently no known food he dislikes. None. Harry recently had a dental and is n ow a proud member of the Toothless Dog Club. Has that slowed him down? Absolutely not. Harry does not chew food. Harry makes food disappear. Kind of like Louie Two Fingers after Louie ratted him out to the Feds. Witnesses report the process is extremely efficient.

Physical Condition

Harry has luxating patellas in both back legs. Harry would prefer this information remain confidential. He still handles stairs and short walks comfortably and seems to have no intention of letting his knees interfere with daily operations.

Sleeping Arrangements

Harry sleeps in bed with his people. Please note that this is not a request. If you suggest another sleeping arrangement, Harry will file a grievance. He will then loudly explain the grievance. At 2 a.m., if necessary.

Distinguishing Features

Harry has enormous bat ears. They are impressive. They are majestic. They suggest Harry can hear a cheese wrapper being opened three rooms away. However, when you say, “Harry, come here,” those same ears may suddenly experience technical difficulties.

The Don's Personal Brand

Signature pattern: Blue plaid
Favorite season: Summer, because every boss needs patio time
Walk-out song: Big Boss Man by Elvis Presley
Favorite hobby: Competitive eating
Shedding: 0/10
Grooming: Mandatory
Bark-o-meter: Witnesses have declined to comment
Fashion style: Old-school gentleman with unexplained connections

Ideal Home

Harry wants a family who appreciates a small dog with an enormous personality. He loves people, enjoys other dogs, likes to play, wants to snuggle, follows his humans everywhere, and would happily spend his retirement sunbathing, eating excellent meals, and conducting neighborhood surveillance from the couch. Very young children probably aren't ideal because of his sore back legs and occasional resource guarding. Otherwise, Harry is looking for a loyal crew.

So if you're ready to welcome nine pounds of Yorkie charisma, authority, and questionable business dealings into your home, Don Harry would like to meet you.

Just remember: You don't adopt Harry. Harry makes you an offer you can't refuse.
