Introducing Harrison! Harrison initially came into the shelter with some of his siblings under-socialized and scared of everything. Since coming to ACR Harrison has made great strides at learning how to puppy! At 5 months old and 20-25 pounds, Harry has got a bit of growing to do yet!

He is currently working on house-training! He has had a few accidents here and there, but is getting the hang of it! He even has started signaling his foster mom at the back door when he’s got to go so it’s getting there! He is, however, crate trained! He goes in on his own, but a treat to entice him definitely never hurt anyone. ?

Harrison lives with other dogs in his current foster home and does well with them! He loves all dogs and ends up very playful! He also is good with cats - with his most evident emotion being confusion, given that they’re just like teeny, more flexible dogs! When it comes to new people, our friend Harry is still learning that humans are okay. He is a shy pup and needs some time to learn that life will be okay! But he’s working on it, and that’s all that we can ask of him! He is okay with attention, but currently prefers attention from his canine counterparts. Once he gets to know you though, he starts to really trust and want your love! With some more time and TLC we hope to see his personality blossom.

Harrison is a good mix between a playful energy level and couch potato. He enjoys a few good play sessions everyday with his siblings and foster mom...what puppy doesn't like that!? At other times he’s perfectly content just getting to chew on a bone. Given his current personality we think Harrison would do best with a canine sibling in an adoptive home to show him the ropes! He mirrors what his foster siblings do, and takes cues well from them, allowing them to teach him just how good life can be!

To ensure our dogs are placed in a safe environment, we require a home visit for all adoptions. Because of this, we typically only adopt to homes within 30 minutes of Athens, GA. If you are further away than that and are interested in one of our pups, please still fill out an application and we can discuss your options. Please understand that you would be responsible for all transportation - meeting the dog, picking the dog up to start a trial, returning the dog should he/she not be a good fit, etc. Please visit our website for more info.
