She was found chained to a bench with a chain around her neck, unable to leave, while her three puppies nursed from her. She was underweight, exhausted, and doing everything she could to keep them alive despite having nothing herself.<br/><br/>Our director at Upshot Dog Rescue found Harper and her puppies on her way to dinner one evening and stepped in immediately. There was no hesitation and no way she was leaving them behind. Harper was brought into rescue that same night, and her puppies were placed into a specialized school-based animal welfare program in Puerto Rico where students learn responsible animal care and place the puppies into adoptive homes through their organization.<br/><br/>Harper remained with us and is being fostered and trained directly by our director.<br/><br/>Where She Is Now<br/><br/>Just three weeks later, Harper is fully vetted, nourished, and thriving. She sleeps through the night in her crate, loves to play, enjoys fetch, and gets along beautifully with the other dog She is learning structure, consistency, and that she can rely on people to provide her with what she needs—safety, food, affection, and leadership.<br/><br/><br/>Harper is active, playful, affectionate, and incredibly people-focused. She would do well with other friendly dogs or as an only dog. She is ready to transition into a home now and deserves a family of her own for the holidays.<br/><br/>Adoption Details<br/><br/>Fully vetted, vaccinated, and ready to travel.
