Harper's Story

Hi! I'm Harper, Harps for short. I'm just over a year old and boy do I like to have fun!

Born in the big city and left to fend for ourselves, my brother and I were picked up and brought to safety. Then we made the trip to a cool place where we got to play and meet other dogs. My brother met a great family and we parted ways. I'm still waiting to meet my own family but in the meantime I'm hanging out with all my friends, like Boone and Sage. They are fun but I what I really want is my own home with my own family.

I'm a GSD mixed with some other stuff but my mom never told us about dad. I'm a gentle girl and love other dogs and even the cats here are pretty cool. I'm about 65 lbs and in great shape. I'm a solid girl and still growing. I keep my figure by running and playing, wrestling with my friends and jumping in and out of the pools. I LOVE the water - what fun. When I go out and about, I'm very well behaved. I don't pull on my leash or carry on like some of the other dogs I see. I mean really, it's just another dog like me so why get all emotional. Oh yeah, I'm also pretty chill seeing other critters like cows and goats.

I'm very affectionate and love being close to my people. When we first meet, I may bark at you as I do like to check you out first and let you know I'm there but before long we will be pals. You know us GSDs, we always have something to say. I ride well in the car and like to explore. I think I would make a great hiking friend. I really don't want to be left out of the fun. I"m a busy girl with places to go and people to meet. Adventures await!!!

Other than wanting to meet the world, I'm a pretty easy girl to have around. I don't resource guard, I love being pet and adored, and I have a soft, tender nature. I adore my people and truly shine when I'm with them. I'll do best with a person'family who will keep building my confidence and showing me just how fun it is to see new places, have new adventures, and just be a dog. I'm not the kind of pup who wants to be left in the house or yard—I want to go places, learn new things, and experience life alongside my humans. I mean, I can chill out while waiting for you, but if you are gone all day then I would have to entertain myself and I'm remember, I'm really kind of a pup.

I've got some pretty adorable features too—my expressive “party ears,” that seem to change every day (like putting on a different hat), along with a tail that has a mind of it's own. I may need a minute or two to figure out my new home but with your help I know we can have some great adventures and a great life together. I'm hanging out at this really cool place in Lake County If you would like to meet me just put in an application so my peeps can give you a call and set it up.

You like this dog...now what? Please take 3-4 minutes and complete our application form at: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/42179/generic. Our adoption team will quickly contact you by phone or email (watch your spam please) to see if it's a match!. If you are already approved to adopt, please contact your Adoption Counselor and they will help you set up a meeting.

You can also sponsor Harper by clicking here. Your name will appear on this page as Harper's sponsor and your donation will help pay for food, treats, toys, supplements and medical expenses. Harper thanks you!
