Harold's Story

My name is Harold and I am an 8 year old Shih Tzu who is full of myself. I can tell you I am extremely cute and funny. My favorite things are toys. If they squeak it is even better. My crate looks like a hoarders paradise. All the toys are mine so I bring them to my crate to protect them and keep them safe.

I get along with other dogs only because I love watching crazy dogs run around me. I just shake my head at them and laugh at them. I love my people. I have met a 5 year old child and enjoyed playing and following her around.

I am housebroken. I am crate trained. I hardly even bark. And of course have I mentioned how handsome I am.

Now my foster mom read this and reminded me about one behavior I had when I came into our foster home. I am a bit embarrassed to mention it. But I needed eye drops and ear drops due to infections and dry eye. My ears hurt and I did not really care for the ear drops. My eyes did not like the eye drops either. Can you blame me? So I showed a different side of me and it was not pretty. I will have ear infections in the future and will always need eye drops. My foster family has worked on both those and I am doing better. I have learned to trust that they will not hurt me and they will not give up on me. So for a Pupperoni I handle the daily eye drops great. They also give me a long acting ear drop so I do not need ear drops every day and that is much better.

So do not look away from me for my last two issues. Embrace me for my cute personality and looks. I can be bribed to change my behaviors if you give me a chance. I only want to be loved, cared for and safe. Oh and fed treats and good food.

If interested in giving me a forever home, please complete an application at safeanimalhaven.org. Thank you!
