Harlow's Story
Harlow came from living outside in Kentucky. How he survived the outside freezing weather and snow is amazing. He is a fantastic dog. Harlow has beautiful blue eyes like his Australian Shepherd breed. Although an aussie, he lacks confidence right now. He appears housetrained with only having one accident in his foster home which was in the first 24 hours. Harlow hangs his head low when approaching adults or adults approaching him. He often rolls over in submission, enjoying belly rubs if you give him one. He would benefit from someone working with him on his confidence. Harlow loves to play with one of his little foster brothers who is only about 8-9 lbs. He is so gentle and tolerant as the little one is a puppy about 8 -9 months old. Check out our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/SAINRescue/ to see the videos of him playing. As we have gotten to know Harlow, although he does well with everyone he meets in public, little kids to older people, the really little ones appear to be a bit overwhelming for him in a home. However, we have also seen him do well walking into a home with other dogs. So, Harlow's ideal family would be one that likes to walk, has a fenced in yard, has another dog, and would be willing to work on building his confidence. If there are children, then probably ones that are around 10 years and up. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body but due to lack of confidence, the rambunctiousness of younger children just being themselves seems to be too overwhelming for him right now.
