Meet Harley in VA - Gentle Couch Potato :)

Harley is an adult Great Pyrenees couch potato who gives a great Pyr Paw :) This boy has great house manners and is content to take naps and hang with his person. Harley lived with a family before his owner remarried and kicked him outside. Rather than fix his fence to be able to keep him, he chose to surrender him to rescue. Harley thinks his hair cut is cute but wants us to tell you that it will grow back long and beautiful to look like the regal boy he is inside! Harley was so matted, cutting his hair was the only way to remove them. Harley prefers to go outside to do his business and then come right back in the house. Harley is currently living with other dogs but would be content to be an only dog or perhaps a companion for a senior dog. He loves attention and would not be sad if he had somebody to pet him all day long! Harley will play with other dogs and his people and is gentle and well-behaved. He was very gentle when he met a child who came to visit. Like most Great Pyrenees, Harley will bark at a leaf when it tries to attack! Are you the lucky family who will give this gentle giant his furever home?

Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
