Harley's Story

Meet Harley: 10 Pounds of Fluff, Sass, and Pure Loyalty!

Harley is a handsome, 6-year-old Bichon Frise / Poodle mix (non-shed) with a massive personality. At just 10 pounds, he is a pint-sized pup looking for a savvy adopter who understands that independent, quirky dogs make the absolute best companions.

The Perfect Mix of Independent & Cuddly
Harley has a wonderfully independent streak, is fully crate trained, and happily sleeps in his living room crate all night. But when morning comes, he is bursting with excitement to join you for playful bed cuddles!

During the day, Harley loves riding in the car with his head out the window, attacking plush squeaky toys, and curling up beside you on the couch for a sloppy kiss. When he gets tired or overstimulated on adventures, his favorite thing is being carried around like royalty in a doggy sling.

Smart, Vocal, and Knowing His Boundaries
Harley is incredibly smart and already knows Sit, Shake, and Down. He is house trained, though he does mark when adjusting to a new environment or experiencing separation anxiety. His foster mom uses a belly band/diaper indoors, which completely solves the problem.

Because Harley is a little guy, he sometimes acts tough to make himself feel big. He is protective of his castle and will let out a loud, proud howl when he hears someone at the gate or welcomes you home. He also has clear boundaries—he will resource guard items he loves and can get startled by sudden movements when he is sleeping.

On walks, Harley loves rolling in the grass but experiences leash anxiety around other dogs and strangers. He just needs a slow introduction! If new people sit on the floor at his level and ignore him at first, he calms right down and warms up beautifully.

Harley's Ideal Forever Home
Harley needs a patient, confident leader who will respect his boundaries while working on his social skills. His perfect matchup includes:
• A Single-Family House: A house is preferred over an apartment due to his loud, enthusiastic welcome-home howls.
• No Young Children: An adult-only home is required, as he does not like his boundaries pushed.
• An Only Pet or Calm Companion: He would thrive as an only dog, or with a very confident, calm dog that naturally respects his personal space.

Once you earn Harley's trust, you will have a fiercely loyal, devoted companion for life.

Setting You Up for Success: Training Included!
To help Harley settle into his new life and build an unbreakable bond with you, his adoption package includes a consultation and 3-virtual sessions with a professional Los Angeles trainer.

If you are looking for a loyal sidekick who will keep you laughing, we are now accepting adoption applications for this handsome boy! https://bichonrescuebrigade.org/adopt/adoption-form/
