Harley's Story

Hi, I’m Harley!

Oh my goodness, I can’t believe I get to tell you about ME! I’m Harley, an 8-month-old Cane Corso puppy, and I just know my forever family is out there. I can feel it! Every time I meet someone new, my tail starts wagging and my heart just bursts with excitement, because I love everyone — kids, grown-ups, dogs big and small, and even cats. Honestly, I just want to be friends with the whole world.

Now, here’s the thing… I’ve got something that makes me a little different. My spine is 95% fused together — from my neck all the way to my hips, it’s almost like one big bone. Nobody knows exactly why, but the vets say it’s been happening since the day I was born. Some people might think that sounds sad, but not me! Nope. I still love to play, I still love to zoom (at my own pace), and I still think life is just the most wonderful thing. My bloodwork looks fantastic, my tummy and body are working great, and I’m ready to live my best life.

What does that mean for my future? Well, it just means I need a family who understands me. I’ll need a slower-paced, relaxed kind of home — maybe one that’s single-level so I don’t have to do lots of stairs or fear I’ll fall down while doing my 3-point turn to turn my body around. I just don’t bend in my back -it’s as stiff as a board.

If I get a doggy brother or sister, that would be amazing, but they’ll need to be the kind who’s gentle and kind, not a bulldozer who will knock me around. I may have some limits, but I’m still just a puppy who loves toys, cuddles, and attention.

And here’s the best part: I am SO sure that the right family is going to fall in love with me. I just know it! I mean, how could they not? I’m sweet, I’m snuggly, I’m full of love, and I’m ready to share my whole heart with someone special. My story might have started in a hard place — the result of careless backyard breeding — but I refuse to let that define me. I believe the next chapter is going to be beautiful, because my forever home is out there waiting, and I just can’t wait to meet them!

So, if you’re reading this and your heart feels a little tug, maybe it’s because we’re meant for each other. I’m Harley — strong, hopeful, a little different, maybe awkward, but full of joy — and I’m ready to be your girl.
