Harley's Story
Harley is about 3 weeks away from being finished with his heartworm treatment and we are looking for his forever home. Here is a report from his foster dad!
Foster report for Harley:

Five weeks into his stay with me Harley is proving to be a wonderful rescue. It goes without saying that he is a handsome American Bulldog, but he also comes with a lot of great personality traits. He is affectionate, playful, and doesn’t appear to have a mean bone in his body. I have an elderly 15 year old (female) herding dog and the two of them get along well. ( of course, he doesn’t know how strong he is so when he gets excited and walks over her she gives him a growl.) This breed is similar to the boxer which means the puppy traits can last from two to three years. And because of his occasional high energy swings, his next family should be prepared to offer him plenty of exercise and lots of toys for distraction. (I especially recommend the heavy duty Kong toys which allow you to put a treat or peanut butter inside.)
Harley is crate trained and slept for the first two weeks in his crate. On week # 3 I made a bed for him and he sleeps at the foot of my bed. He is allowed to be on my sofa, so expect that as well!
The only negative things I can say about Harley, are that he, like most young dogs, is a chewer and latches on to shoes, clothes, leashes, etc. (another good reason to provide him with lots of toys.) And he thinks he is a lap dog! So be prepared for him to want to rest on top of you when you are watching tv!
Whoever adopts Harley, understanding that he needs young dog discipline and guidance, will have found a most wonderful new family member.
