Harken's Story

Harken is a sweet, playful little puppy who loves romping around with other dogs and playing with his favorite toys. He enjoys going on walks and is curious about the world around him. He is still learning the ropes with potty training but is making great progress every day. At bedtime, he settles right down and sleeps through the night in his crate like a champ. Harken is a happy, snuggly pup who is eager to learn and ready to bring lots of joy to his forever home.
Harken does have a few health considerations, but they certainly do not slow him down. He has a condition called megaesophagus, which means he will regurgitate water if he drinks it on its own. Because of this, it is best for water to be mixed into his food so he can keep it down more easily. As much as he LOVES to play with other dogs, it may be helpful for him to be an only dog so that it will be easier to monitor his water intake.
Harken was also born with a small hole in his heart, but it has not limited him at all! His cardiologist has cleared him with no restrictions, and no surgery is needed.
Like many puppies, Harken can be a little skittish around new people and may get nervous if someone moves too quickly around him. When he feels scared, he may nip, so it is important to give him a little time and space to warm up. Once he feels comfortable, his sweet and playful personality really shines through.
