Hardy's Story

If interested, please contact the foster home. Petfinder profiles doesn’t always work.

Meet Hardy! Hardy is a three-year-old cattle dog mix with a heart of gold. For a younger male cattle dog, he's refreshingly laid-back. He's equally happy to go on an adventure or curl up for a couch session. He's food motivated and a quick learner, which makes training fun and rewarding.

Hardy has been working hard on his manners and leash training and is making great progress every day. He aims to please! While Hardy is a bit of a ladies' man, he can be a little shy with new men at first. He warms up to men fairly quickly, however, with patient and gentle introductions. He's happily navigated breweries, farmers markets, and city streets and won over plenty of new friends along the way.

He's currently fostering alongside some grumpy older girl dogs and is learning to respect their social cues. He shows some resource guarding around high-value treats and toys, but shares meals and pig ears with his foster siblings without any fuss. Hardy is still getting the hang of crate training. He'd always prefer to be with his person, but he's learning to settle in and relax and getting better with time. Hardy would thrive in a breed-savvy home without young children or cats.

If you're looking for a loyal, snuggly, adventure-ready companion who's still growing into his best self, Hardy might just be your guy. Hardy is neutered and up to date on all shots and preventatives. Hardy is neutered and up to date on all shots and preventatives.
