Harah 's Story
Sweet senior Harah is here to prove that black dogs and older dogs deserve the spotlight too. At 8 years old, this beautiful German Shepherd has somehow mastered the art of being overlooked — but we think that’s about to change.

Harah joined the Serendipity pack in February after animal control found her roaming the neighborhood. In fact, the animal control officers were way too familiar with Harah and her independent neighborhood patrol routes. They knew she had a home at one time, but unfortunately, no one came to claim her.

Now that Harah has officially retired from patrol duty, she is ready to find a home that’s truly hers. She is incredibly friendly and sweet with people and has a calm, easygoing personality that comes with maturity. All she’s asking for is to spend her days keeping you company and being queen of the couch.

She has lived with other dogs and did well meeting a calm, respectful dog, so we think that with a slow introduction, Harah could share her home with a mellow buddy. However, Harah has raised a few litters of puppies, and now that those days are over, she isn’t interested in the chaos that comes with puppies and young, energetic dogs.

Black dogs and senior dogs are often the last chosen in rescue, but Harah deserves to be someone’s first choice. She has spent enough of her life surviving — now it’s time for her to simply be loved. Harah qualifies for our Seniors FUREVER program, with two available options:

(1) If your heart has a special place for the seniors, you can adopt a senior dog for the regular adoption fee of $400, and this becomes a perpetual fee. You can adopt another SGSDR senior dog at any time from us in the future at NO CHARGE.
(2) If you aren't sure about your future adoption capacity, you may adopt your SGSDR senior dog for a reduced adoption fee of $250

-------------------
Our Adoption Fees:
-------------------

*Dogs and puppies 12 months old or younger: $450

* Adult dogs over 12 months of age: $400

* Senior dogs over 7 years of age qualify for our "Seniors FUREVER" program!
