Happy's Story

Greetings!! My name is Happy and I'm a 56 pound adult retriever/ lab mix. I probably have a little weight to gain to feel my best (so feel free to share your snacks!!)
The first thing you should know about me is that my name sums me up perfectly. No matter what is going on, I'm just so HAPPY to be here! My happiness shines through in lots of ways: If I smell something good I lift my chin in
the air and do a little prance. If I see a puddle I dip my feet in and wag my tail. If you're offering snacks, I'm savoring them! If you're handing out back scratches, I'm front in line! I am happy to be included and I love the little things!
The second thing you should know about me is that I have blonde eyelashes and they are perfect and precious and a really important part of my look.
The third thing you should know about me: I joined the hiking team!! I went out on a hike with my friends and, you guessed it, I WAS HAPPY TO BE THERE!!! I am athletic and kept up with the pack and I also charmed each and every one of the human hikers- they thought I had the best personality (aw, shucks!). If you're happy and you know it send in your adoption request today and come meet ME: Happy!!
**Hiking feedback: " He truly lives up to his name--was super easy going and just wagging his tail the whole time! He was interested in other dogs and friendly towards the other dogs and people. He stayed at the front of the pack for most of the hike, but slowed down a bit around 2.5 miles and was definitely ready for a rest. He is a very sweet boy.
*Sleepover feedback: " I can't recommend Happy enough for a family/individual who is looking for an easygoing, low maintenance dog. He is so well-behaved and as sweet as can be. He may be out of his puppy years, but is still very active and ready to have fun.
**More Hiker feedback: "He's a sweet boy that was a trooper the entire time! He was calm around the other dogs on the hike and around strangers. He kept a steady walking pace and never pulled. What a good boy!
*Additional sleepover notes: " He loves a busy house. He was happiest when my grandkids were here. He was incredibly gentle with them. I hope this special boy finds a family.
*Additional notes: " He found the routine and rhythm of the house quickly, including letting us know when he needed to be let outside. He had no accidents at all. And he ate calmly and well at all meals.

Saving Grace Animals for Adoption's Adoption Policy
All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccinations, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $395.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member. Our Adoption Request Form can be completed online at our website at https://savinggracenc.org/adopt/. An Adoption Request Form is required before setting up an appointment to meet with a potential adoptee or a foster home. Sending an Adoption Form does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. If you'd like to donate to help cover the cost of care for these wonderful dogs awaiting new homes, please visit the donate page on our website at https://savinggracenc.org/give/donate-now/. Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.
