Happy's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application. If you would like to try a Foster to Adopt trial, please fill out an Adoption Application.

If you are only interested in temporarily Fostering one of our rescues, please fill out a Foster Application.

Meet Silly and Happy!

Updated 3/22/26
As the foster for Happy, I can say she is the sweetest loving baby! Hope we can find her a family home soon so they too can enjoy this beauty. Happy loves to run to me to be picked up and given hugs and belly rubs (which can be done now that she is small ha ha) She was sleeping in her crate with her bro but I just made the change to sleep in their own crate and doing amazing. She is fantastic in the crate. She sleeps at night for 8-10hrs not a beep and such bladder control! (in the crate, not in the house lol she is a baby and NOT house trained, if you do not have time to potty train, then you should not be looking at pups - sorry!) Happy is perfect with dogs, cats and all humans. She is very outgoing and total social butterfly, she has only done one event and volunteers adored her. Happy is DONE with her puppy vaccination series and READY to go home. She is scheduled to be spayed on 4/20 so families should be local to san diego to be able to bring her to her spay apt (of course adoption fee covers surgery) and she will be old enough to receive her rabies, If you read this after 4/20 it means she is spayed and can NOW be adopted out of san diego area too. If you prefer to have her spayed before adoption we are sure we can squeeze an apt through our vet (unfortunatelly that is the soonest they had) but in order to make those changes we would need to have an applicaiton online and go through the process to approve so we can know you def want to adopt her and we can schedule ASAP. Otherwise if local to SD and are ok with the time perfect.

Silly and Happy are currently fostered together along with other dogs/cats in a home with yard setting and she is really good about walking to her favorites spots to potty which is adorable and such good pup. Not a big barker at all (at least not at this time) except when she is playing with fellow puppy friends and being rowdy. She is really enjoying to the dog park now for a short session to socialize with people and other dogs outside of the home. Her besties aside from her bro are RED our alpha senior large breed dog who totally loves silly and Chester the orange tabby. Happy and Silly love each other BUT will NOT be able to be adopted together as they are strong players on border line sibling rivalry so if you are looking for a pair these 2 babies should not be adopted together. If you like to adopt or foster to adopt trial for my sweet pup please submit an application ASAP at arwob.org and we will contact you !

NOTE - We have NO idea what breed silly and happy are Silly looks like a boxer pup but we would not doubt they have bully breeds and small breeds like chihuahua or small breed terriers. They were rescued from tijuana where there were a medium size dogs all mutts in the 30-50 lbs range so we believe these pups mama was one of them and in the 30-40lb range but no idea on dad could have been boxer, shepherd or poodle for all we know! his medical record will state boxer but he is a true mutt.

Silly - is just that, a total innocent funny goofball
Happy - is just that, nothing but smiles and outgoing personalityIf you would like to meet one of our animals, PLEASE fill out an adoption application.
Dog Adoption Application
Cat Adoption Application

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU ARE IN THE MILITARY please fill out a short questionnaire in addition to the adoption application.
Military Questionnaire

Animal Rescuers Without Borders,Inc.'s Adoption Policy
The A.R.W.O.B. group prides itself on carefully placing animals into responsible and loving homes. We care about the present and future lives of the many unwanted dogs and cats and strive to improve them so they can come to know stability, love and safety. For more information, please visit our website at www.arwob.org. Our adoption procedure is as follows: 1) Adoption Application filed by applicant (visit the applications page to fill one out!). We typically adopt dogs and cats to individuals or families located in San Diego County, Orange County and Los Angeles areas. However, we may consider potential adopters within California, Arizona, and Nevada (within a reasonable driving distance) under certain circumstances. We require that the application be approved ahead of time and a home check must be done via FaceTime Skype (we do not accept videos for this purpose). We would also require the potential adopter to come to San Diego to meet the animal in person and we recommend bringing any current pet(s) to see if they will get along. If the potential adopter opts out of the meet-n-greet with their existing animal(s) and if the new pet does not get along with their existing pets, we would require the adopter to drive back to San Diego to return the animal -- we cannot provide transportation. Our adoptions are time sensitive and our policy is that we do not place holds on any of our rescues. PLEASE NOTE: We have implemented a new policy for those who are currently serving in the military. IF YOU ARE IN THE MILITARY please fill out a short questionnaire in addition to the adoption application. 2) A play date between the applicant and rescue (dog or cat). An applicant MUST have an APPROVED online adoption application filed BEFORE scheduling a playdate at the animal's foster home. The playdate will ensure that the potential adopter and the dog/ cat they are interested in is the right match. If the dog/cat does not possess the qualities and behavioral traits the applicant is looking for, we can continue the adoption process by meeting another rescued dog or cat. You can also meet the animal you are interested in at scheduled adoption events. Approved applicants have priority to meet an animal over others. Please read the events page for more information about meeting an animal at an event and possibly taking them home afterward. 3) Home checks to ensure the safety of our rescues (If applicable). An ARWOB volunteer will contact you upon approval of your application (and the playdate appointment) to schedule a visit to your home. Here we will take a look at where the cat/dog will be living. Your home and yard must be safe and secure. 4) Adoption Contract and ID from applicant If everything checks out during the homecheck and we believe our rescued dog/ cat will live happily there, we will go ahead and sign the adoption contract to makes the adoption official. 5) Adoption fee Fees are different for both dogs and cats and are based on age and, sometimes, on the breed. Please visit the adoption fees page for a break down of all. 6) Denial of adoption applications We screen all of our adoption applications thoroughly in order to find the perfect home for our rescues. There may be times when we feel the adopter is not a good fit based on the answer to questions on their application. Please know that we vet each applicant with the animal's best interest in mind. In the event that your application is denied, you will receive an email letting you know of our decision. However, we will not be able to answer detailed questions regarding the denial.
