Happy 's Story

Meet Happy, a 40 lb bundle of happiness who has never met a stranger!
Happy loves to play with people and other dogs. She has learned that not all dogs are as energetic as her and does leave her older foster siblings alone if they don't want to play.
Happy does jump a bit when she gets excited, but calms down and is happy to take belly rubs from small children, teenagers, and adults.
Happy really enjoys being outside. She likes to walk on a leash and just wander around the fenced backyard looking for rabbits or birds to chase. She currently takes 3-4 walks per day for a total of 2-3 miles per day. We recommend she have a fenced backyard as she does like run around and to chase wildlife.
Happy knows basic commands like "sit" and "touch". She will sit for her food dish without being asked.
While Happy was treated for heartworm in 2025, this has not slowed her down a bit.
Happy is mostly housebroken and can make it through the night without accidents. (She is crated at night.)
Happy does get startled easily by unexpected noises and can be possessive of her food dish. We do feed her in a separate room from our other dogs for this reason.
Happy is a very sweet dog who loves going to the vet to love on the people there and she would do well with someone who is willing to spend time with her burning up her energy. She would also love to have a canine sibling of roughly the same size to play with.
If you are looking for a happy canine companion who enjoys the outdoors, Happy is your dog!
