Hannah's Story

Hannah is a 6 year old female German Shorthaired Pointer. She weighs 46 lbs is spayed, up-to-date on all her shots.

She was surrendered to rescue because her owner was ill and could no longer care for her. She is a special needs dog as she has Addison’s disease but this doesn’t slow her down. She is very active which is typical for the breed. She gets a monthly shot and takes a low dose of prednisone each day. Periodic blood work is necessary to be sure her medicine is correct. Estimate of monthly expenses would be $100 depending on your vet. Costs will be lower if you give the monthly shot yourself. She gets along well with other dogs but would be fine as an only dog. She does jump up some when she meets someone new. We are working to correct this and she is much better. She does well with children of any age.

Loves everyone. She is vocal and will let you know when she wants to go out, is hungry, and wants to be petted. She is very affectionate and could be your best couch buddy. Although she is crate trained, she doesn’t need to be crated but is fine once in the crate. She loves to go for rides in the car and will jump in if the door is left open. She can be left alone in a fenced in yard and does fine. She is trained on an invisible fence and doesn’t challenge it. She is very prey driven so a home without cats is a must. Hannah is being fostered in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
