Hank in MS - Calm, Loving & Affectionate!'s Story
Meet Hank, a Great Pyrenees mix who is ready to bring all the love of a gentle giant into your home! He sports the classic Pyr look with a shorter, sleeker coat similar to a Labrador - all the majesty, with a little less grooming! Hank is both leash and crate trained and knows sit, down, lay down, and roll over - a trick he uses to full advantage when demanding his daily belly rubs. With a moderate activity level and an easygoing nature, he's the perfect balance of playful and relaxed, and loves sunbathing between play sessions. Hank gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes (both males and females), cats, and horses. He even has a barn cat best friend! When it comes to children, Hank absolutely lights up - he had a group of visiting kids as young as five who spent hours playing with him and loving on him, so he’d do well with a family that has children. He's equally great with new people and is a perfect gentleman at the vet around other dogs. Hank's ideal home is with an active family who can take him on daily walks, or a farm with plenty of space to roam. He'll need a five-foot fence, and while he's primarily an outdoor dog, he does come inside during bad weather, as he dislikes heavy rain. His favorite treats are eggs and pancakes, and he lives for belly scratches and toy time. Calm, affectionate, and endlessly lovable - Hank is truly one of a kind!

NYS Registered Rescue # RR102
NGPR dogs are in foster homes at the location specified on their full listing. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.

Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
