Hank's Story

Meet Handsome Hank! He is a loyal companion who is dog friendly, loves car rides and a lazy afternoon, has great manners and almost never barks.

This 7 year old 64 lb Boxador (that's a Boxer/Lab mix!) is as charming as his name suggests. Hank is a playful, social boy . He's done wonderfully living with another dog and would be ok having a canine buddy but likely will need some time adjusting to a new buddy. He hasn't spent much time around cats, but he does have a strong prey drive for wildlife like rabbits and birds.

When he's outside, Hank is in his element-sniffing, exploring, lounging in the sunshine, or splashing in a doggie pool on hot days. He walks nicely on leash, loves a good tennis ball chase, and will sometimes even bring it back for another round!

Though he was a bit camera shy at the start of his photo shoot, a few treats and some pool time with his friend Rowdy turned him into a natural model.

Inside the home, Hank is a calm, loyal companion who's happiest hanging out near his person and keeping an eye on the world. He's polite in public, a wonderful bed warmer, and a steady protector. Hank tends to bond more quickly with women, but he warms up to anyone who shows him patience and kindness. He's met a few kids and did just fine-he'd do best in a home with adults or older children.

Hank may seem a little reserved at first, but once you earn his trust (treats help a lot), you'll get full-body wiggles, big goofy grins, and a buddy who's equal parts silly and laid-back. He truly is an all-around great dog.

If Handsome Hank sounds like your perfect match, apply at www.caninecollective.org.
