Hank's Story

Hank, Male, Great Pyrenees Mix, 2 years old, 79 lbs

A gentle, goofy boy with a heart of gold; meet Hank. He's no longer a puppy but still has plenty of energy and lots to learn. He's a big fan of all people, but has limited exposure to small children and is wary of them. Older children are fine.

Hank was probably an outdoor only dog before coming to his foster home. Stairs and slippery floors are becoming more comfortable for him. He is housetrained. Hank’s in the process of being crate trained, and loves to lounge in the crate with a toy. Keep a close eye on your socks and toques because he loves collecting them. Hank is still learning his leash manners and would love a large, enclosed space to play, or a fenced-in property to supervise. He does fine in the car, but gets restless if you leave him to run into the store.

Like a good guardian, Hank will bark at approaching people and cars when they come onto the property and, true to his breed, will bark occasionally at night if sleeping outside to let the predators know he’s on duty.

Hank has spent time with all kinds of different animals with his foster family. He loves chasing his foster sibling Sheltie through the woods. He will chase the foster family's cats outside but only wants to play, and mostly leaves them alone indoors. His foster family has chickens in an enclosed space, and is testing out his ability to be around them when they're free-roaming.

Hank has been neutered, microchipped, and his vaccinations are up to date. The adoption fee for Hank is $600.00.

For more information on adopting Hank or to request an adoption application, please contact info@homeagainbancroft.ca.

We do not ship our dogs.
