Hank's Story

Meet Hank!
Hi, I'm Hank! I'm a 4-year-old Schnauzer-Yorkie mix weighing a perfect 11.8 pounds, and I'm looking for a special home that understands a sensitive guy like me.
I'm a handsome tan-and-gray fellow with a big personality. I'm gentle, adventurous, and love playing with my toys! I can be a little cautious at first when adjusting to new humans I like to take my time and keep a bit of personal space until I know I'm safe. But once you pick me up, I melt into a affectionate lovebug who adores being held!
Because I'm still building my confidence, I would thrive best in a calm, quiet home as an only dog (or potentially with a small, very submissive dog friend), where I don't have to share my favorite meals or compete for attention. I do like the sound of my own voice when something catches my eye, so a single-family home (no apartments, please!) would be ideal. I'm currently wearing a belly band as I settle into my house-training routine in my foster home, so a patient family willing to help me stick to a consistent schedule will set me up for total success.
If you're looking for a loyal, cozy lap dog who just needs a quiet space and a gentle heart to blossom, I'm your guy!
Quick Stats:
Age: 4 years old
Weight: 11.8 lbs
Breed: Schnauzer-Yorkie Mix
Medical: Neutered & full dental completed
Best Home Environment: Single-family home (vocal voice!), patient environment working on house training, best as an only pet or with a small, submissive dog.
Personality: Gentle, toy-loving, affectionate once held, thrives with routine.
I'm currently in a foster home in Gulfport, MS waiting for my special person!
Apply to adopt Hank with Tired Dog Rescue!

Tired Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
Tired Dog Rescue adoption fee includes all sets of vaccinations, heartworm test, fecal exam, spay/neuter and microchip. We also recommend that you research the breed that you want to adopt. Ask yourself....Can you afford the cost of a high maintenance dog such as a Cocker Spaniel or Shih-tzu etc? The grooming costs are about 50.00 every 6-8 weeks. Are you in a position to adopt a puppy which will require training? Can you afford the medical costs that might be involved in adopting a senior pup? We want every adoption to be for life so please think about what you can and what you are willing to do before considering each pet. If you are unsure please contact us and we can help answer any questions.
