Hammy's Story

Hammy the worlds friendliest hound is now available only at the Goochland County Adoption Center. This highly desired model is the pinnacle of the Goochland lifestyle. He likes his Ukrops, his Flying Squirrels, and being a real Southern Gentleman. Hammy got his name after a local school had an essay contest to name a shelter dog. The essay said " Hammy is the type of dog that would eat your sandwich, but you wouldn't be mad" He has the ears of a basset hound, the sleeping traits of a cat, and the joy of a dog that's just happy to here. (wherever that here happens to be.) Hammy likes leisurely walks, meeting new people and dogs, and showing off his zest for affection. Hammy is neutered, chipped, and fully vetted.

Goochland Animal Protection's Adoption Policy

All of the animals at our shelter leave with age appropriate vaccinations and many have been spayed/neutered. If they haven't, you will sign a contract stating that the animal you are adopting will be fixed. Dogs are heartworm tested and cats are FIV/FeLV tested. Animal are also dewormed and receive flea/tick treatment. Adoption Fees: Dogs: $90 Cats: $75
