Hammy's Story

Meet Hammy, or Sir Hamilton the Handsome if we’re being proper. This adorable and loving Corgi is 6 years old and is seeking his forever home. One where he will know he is loved and safe. Please read in entirety before applying. He is a special little fella with ALOT of love to give.

Hammy is shy at first but this does not last more than a few days. Adopters will need to understand this and give him decompression time for a few days, but we promise you that its worth it because once he feels safe, he is an absolute rockstar, exemplifying nothing pure love and silliness that will make you laugh. Hammy loves his crate! When he first gets to know a new environment he is often scared and may seem aggressive or guarding when he is in it (it’s his safe spot). Please don’t let this deter you, it’s the only constant space that he’s known, sadly.

He loves to play and get belly rubs - you will see this in time! He LOVES to fetch balls, rings, frisbees, play tetherball, go on walks/runs, and chase his canine friend around. He is a true gentleman with the best manners at the vet! They are all in love with his gentle nature. He is easy to bathe, trim my nails, and he tolerate’s being brushed He is very smart and confident and other dogs may not appreciate this so we are looking for the perfect match for Hammy (breed specific and active preferred). Hammy does have a high herding drive so we believe a home with no young children would best set him and his new family up for success. Bully sticks and baby carrots are his favorite treats.

To adopt, copy the link below and paste it in your browser to submit an adoption application.

https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SFMR/Dog

All adoptions include:
• Up to date on all vetting
• Free vet exam with a $50 Chewy e-gift card
• Free Fi Mini tracking collar w/ a free membership
• Complimentary grooming to any Scenthound location
