HALLIE: WORK IN PROGRESS — PLEASE DON'T EXPECT PERFECTION ON DAY ONE

Hallie is back with us.

Her foster mom fell completely in love with her.

Hallie, unfortunately, did not feel quite the same way about Foster Dad.

"It's not you. It's me."
— Hallie, probably.

So we're learning more about what this little girl needs, and we think Hallie may be happiest in a female household with someone patient enough to let her decide when she's ready to trust.

Hallie is a 2-year-old, small Dachshund mix who came from the Union County hoarding case where 92 dogs were living together in a single-wide trailer.

Think about that for a minute.

Hallie didn't grow up learning that people were safe, leashes meant fun walks, visitors brought treats and couches were made for snuggling.

She learned how to live among 91 other dogs.

Now we're asking her to learn an entirely different world.

And she's trying.

Hallie's current résumé:

Recycled Best Friends's Adoption Policy
Our standard adoption fees are $250.00, this could vary based on breed. We have a standard application process for both fostering and adoption to ensure the best match for our dogs and families. • All applicants must complete an application, which includes questions, a veterinary reference, and two personal references. • Once submitted, an application reviewer will carefully evaluate the information and contact both the veterinary and personal references. • After the review is complete, the Director will follow up with the applicant directly to discuss the application in more detail. • The Director will then determine approval status and help match the applicant with the dog that best fits their home and lifestyle. As part of the process, approved applicants are required to attend a meet-and-greet with all household members—including current dogs—to ensure a safe and successful match.
