Haizly's Story

Meet Haizly
Sweet, pretty, a little shy, and completely worth the wait. That's Haizly.
When she first meets you, Haizly may need a little time to decide that you're one of the good ones. But once she feels comfortable, she's all about the attention, treats, and showing you her softer side. And every now and then, this calm girl surprises you with a case of the zoomies!
Haizly came to us as a stray after being found hiding underneath a truck. She was understandably hesitant, but her love of food helped us earn her trust and get her safely inside.
Unfortunately, we also discovered that Haizly had been shot with a .22 long rifle, and the lead was still lodged near her jaw. Her wound has been cleaned, she's receiving medication, and she's healing. But we know healing isn't always just physical.
Thankfully, her time in foster care has shown us so much more about this special girl. Haizly is house-trained, rides well in the car, walks nicely on a leash, and did well with other dogs after a proper introduction. She would prefer a home without cats. She's also sensitive to loud noises like fireworks and gunfire and can be hesitant about going outside after dark.
What Haizly needs most is someone patient enough to let her come out of her shell and a home where she will always feel safe.
At approximately 4-5 years old, she has so much love left to give. She's already been through more than any dog should have to endure. Now it's her turn to know what it feels like to be loved, cherished, safe, and protected.
Haizly is spayed, vaccinated, and ready to meet the person who will show her that the world can be a kind place after all.
