Hailey Jo's Story

**In a foster home**

Hailey Jo (AKA Winry) is a super affectionate girl who loves to snuggle with her humans. Hailey Jo can be nervous at first and will take some time to warm up. But once she does, she is the best friend you could ever ask for! She enjoys snacks and belly rubs. She happily explores the yard with her person and will do some zoomies once she gets comfortable! Hailey Jo would really prefer to go to a home that already has another dog (she likes boy dogs the most). She is much more relaxed, silly, and playful when she has the companionship of another dog pal.

From the foster: Hailey Jo is a hidden treasure. The lucky person who has the patience to get past her initial shyness will have the most loyal, playful and affectionate pup. She has been through alot in her short life. She will not make a good first impression (or second or third). Because of her severe fear of strangers, she will cower in a corner, and bark or growl if new people approach her. But after a day or two, the patient person will be able to touch her paw, and maybe give her treats from their hand. A day or two later, you'll be petting her. Soon after that, she'll be following you around the house, doing her joyful dance whenever you return home, and snuggling with her head on your lap. She loves playing with other dogs and has no food guarding or dominance issues. Hailey Jo is house trained, and is comfortable and quiet in her crate at night. She is a sweetheart and would love to find her forever home, where she will thrive once she gets comfortable.

Hailey Jo/Winry is part of our Sit, Stay Adopt! program; please contact Emily Herr at herre@bloomington.in.gov if you're interested in setting up a meeting!
