Hailey's Story

Meet Hailey — A Mother Who Survived So Her Babies Could Live

Some dogs endure things that should never happen. Hailey is one of them.

This beautiful Great Pyrenees mama was found chained outside, abandoned, and left to fend for herself. Alone. Neglected. Forgotten. And yet — in the middle of that hardship — she gave birth to seven precious puppies.

When a kind Good Samaritan saw her suffering and made the call that changed everything, Hailey was extremely emaciated and heavily infested with worms. Her body was depleted. But even then, she was still feeding her babies. Still protecting them. Still choosing motherhood over her own survival.

That’s who Hailey is.

She has since been treated for her worms, and we are carefully working on rebuilding her strength and meeting her nutritional needs. With proper care, safety, and regular meals, her body is slowly recovering. And now that she no longer has to fight just to survive, her gentle spirit is beginning to shine through.

Despite everything she endured, Hailey is soft, loving, and trusting. She leans into affection as if she’s been waiting her whole life to know what kindness feels like. There is a quiet gratitude in her eyes — and a depth that only comes from surviving the unimaginable.

Hailey gave everything she had to her puppies. Now it will soon be her turn.

She deserves a home where she will never be chained again. Never be forgotten. Never have to wonder where her next meal will come from. A home where she can rest. Heal. Be cherished.

If you have room in your heart for a resilient mama who has already proven how fiercely she loves — Hailey will soon be adoptable- once her pups are weaned- she will be waiting for her forever family.

***Note: Adoption Policy: Montague County Animal Rescue typically does not adopt dogs to homes where they will live primarily outdoors. We believe every dog deserves to be part of the family and live safely indoors. Exceptions may be made for specific breeds or unique circumstances where an outdoor environment is appropriate and secure.
