GYPSY's Story

HOLD / PENDING Gypsy is a very intelligent, loyal girl who loves to play tag with other dogs. She knows all her basic commands and is extremely affectionate with people she trusts. She can get anxiety when outdoors on walks if there is traffic or loud noises. We believe this is because she was caught in a trap and her first real interactions with people was a traumatic experience.
She acts as the "welcome committee" for new dogs coming into our rescue and seems nurturing of the younger ones - showing them the ropes. She is very intuitive and has all of the behavior traits one would expect with a Carolina Dog.
We would anticipate her going to a new home and environment to be a daunting experience for her at first so a person who is breed familiar and willing to be patient and build trust on her terms is needed. Gypsy also loves other canine companionship and being part of a pack so a home with at least one other dog would be required for adoption.

Applications for adoption can be submitted at lovar.org
