Gypsy's Story
We have a great update on our dear Gypsy who has been in foster care for some time. Gypsy has made some great leaps forward! She's still fairly fearful, but she's slowly learning that people can be kind. She is allowed to run loose outside the fenced area with the other dogs now that she trusts her foster mom and knows her home. **please note, any adopter requires a fully fenced secure yard to help her build confidence and be secure while settling in**

Gypsy is great with ALL dogs small and big! She loves to romp and play with them. She still needs lots of work on leash training.

She sleeps on her foster mom's bed at night, but she's also crate trained.

Gypsy is hoping to find that special home, one that will understand it takes time for her to warm up and trust but once she does, you'll have the best friend you always wanted!
=======================================================================
Meet the shy and unique Gypsy

Sweet Gypsy is a very special needs dog.
She's just over a year old, a Border Collie Lab cross. We have no idea what happened to her as a puppy, but it certainly wasn't pleasant... that much is clear.

Gypsy was purchased at the age of 4 months by a couple who had no idea she had been subjected to abuse. When they bought her, she was extremely shut down. After 9 months of trying, they asked us to take her. Gypsy wants affection on her terms. If you're sitting or laying down, she will come close for a bit of love.
She sleeps on her foster mom's bed, and allows her to stroke her head, even occasionally asking with a soft nudge. On leash, she circles and circles, in the yard, she runs circles...unless she's chasing squirrels. She's 100% house trained, and crate trained as well. She's not noisy in the house, but will bark when there's excitement outside.

Gypsy needs a quiet, gentle person/people in her life willing to make an effort, or just accept her for who she is.

MUST HAVE A FENCED YARD.

If you feel Gypsy could be a great match for you, please complete an adoption application on our website www.hullshaven.org. Adoption fee is $450 and this includes their core vaccines (DA2PPV, Rabies) deworming, health checks and spay/neuter, as well as any care required. All finalized adoptions come with a free 6 week trial of pet insurance with Pet Secure.
