Gwen's Story

Gwen is a typical loveable, laid-back Bulldog. She is a huge sweetheart who is a bit lazy! You can find Gwen napping most of the day, but with bursts of playful energy. She is very content to grab a snooze in the warm sunlight, on a soft surface, next to her foster family or her furry foster sibling.
Gwen enjoys nibbling on her favorite nylabones, snacktime and napping on any comfy spot (yes we said napping twice!). She hasn’t quite taken to playing with toys (yet) as she would much rather bark at them than bat them around with her paws.
Gwen is VERY food motivated and will beg for treats, extra dog food, and even human food. Food is Gwen’s ultimate motivator! Even though Gwen is never offered any human food she will incessantly beg to try to catch a crumb from the little hands in the home that may drop something of interest.
After some indoor excitement, you can find Gwen requesting butt scratches, and more scratchies and then off to grab yet another snooze. Gwen is the ultimate relaxed potato but don’t be fooled by her age as she is young at heart! She has a very sweet loving disposition and just wants to be adored and surrounded by her people and her furry friends.
She currently lives with a few furry foster siblings (both a cat and a dog) and they tolerate her inability to read their social cues. Gwen doesn’t know personal space and will need some guidance in that department. Even though Gwen has a great overall temperament, she can be a bit stubborn (typical Bulldog trait) so she will need just a little extra patience! She is experiencing a big change and will need a patient and understanding family that is willing to offer her the space she needs to adjust to another new home and to learn what is expected of her in her adoptive home.
We do think Gwen would love a balanced, furry playmate to help teach her how to play and enjoy the toys in the home. She is cat friendly! Gwen seems to get along well with every human she meets (both big and small). She has a super gentle, kind, and loving disposition and she truly does GREAT around children. Because Gwen is calm and sweet, we think she would do wonderfully with children of any age who are calm, gentle, and dog savvy. As with all of our dogs, slow introductions to both other dogs and children are a must to ensure everyone is kept safe.
