Gus's Story

Gus came to us due to no fault of his own. There was issues of DV in the home and his owner needed placement to be able to seek women's shelter.
Gus is a sweet boy, just a little shy. We are told he has Maltese, Yorkie, Schnauzer, and Poodle, there maybe other breeds mixed with the those other breeds. We had to give Gus a major overhaul due to overgrowth of coat and neglect with grooming. We have started vaccines, deworming, chipped, and has been tested for Parvo, Giardia, Coccidia and Heartworm...all of which he was negative for. We plan to get him scheduled for neutered & rabies late March or beginning of April, the sterilization fee is already figured into the adoption fee, there isn't any other fees. He will go out on a neuter agreement, if he has not yet been sterilized before adoption.
Gus has been fairly good with going outside potty, initially he marked a few times but that has subsided. He does very well with routine and crating at bedtime and while at work (basically unable to supervise). He currently lives in a foster home with other dogs ranging from 10# - 115# and is fine with all, he also is great with cats. He came from a home with children, from what we know as young as 4-5yrs old.
Gus is a dog that will need routine haircuts but we are not sure how frequently as previous owner never had him groomed. We will assume about every 8-12wks. He also will be low or no shedding and low allergen.
If you want more information or to set up a meet and greet, CONTACT FOSTER PARENT AS THEY WILL BE PROCESSING ADOPTION, call/text (218)640-1930 for quickest response, emails and direct inquiry from the posts are not always checked regularly.

After the conference call we set up a meet and greet and allow the family to come to meet the pet and determine if the animal will be a good fit with the family.
