Gus's Story

Hi, my name is Gus and I'm one amazing boy, says my foster mom. I was rescued from a Utah shelter where I was picked up as a stray. They say I am 10 years old, but I still have spurts of puppy energy. I like other dogs and play bow to get their attention. My favorite person in my house though is my 5 year old human brother. I really like all the humans in my house too and am said to be a bit velcro, with a smidge of separation anxiety which is probably the result of being lost or dumped and living on my own for a while before rescue.

I am very people and dog friendly, currently living with three Brittanys, age 6-13 and my most perfect home would include humans that are retired or work from home and other friendly dogs to play with and keep me company. I love my walks and am easy to walk on a harness. I also enjoy stretching my legs at the dog park; if I get uncomfortable, I seek out my foster mom for security and safety. She says my recall is pretty good, but I still need a securely fenced yard that is at least 3.5' - my current fence is 6'.

Breakfast shall be served at 7:00 am and I will get you up, not with a loud bark, but more of a muffled constant encouragement. I am still a little on the lean side and food is important! I could eat three times a day. I am crate trained and house trained. Cats are not my friends, but who needs them when you have dogs and people. I currently have full run of the house and am not destructive (only one of the benefits of a senior). I do however love to cuddle with my humans and furniture privileges are a must.

I am fully vetted, was neutered and vaccinations up to date and even had a dental. I do need a little help being lifted into an SUV or truck and sometimes I might need help out too, but mostly I just hop out if it's not too high off the ground.

Really and truly, I do sound pretty amazing, don't you think? If your home could use some love, I'm available.
