Gus's Story

Let's get this guy a home! Ive been taking photos of this handsome guy since 2022!!! Gus was originally rescued from Highlands County Animal Services. He was picked up as a stray. He was then adopted in July of 2023. So he was waiting for a year. He was returned 11-29-23, because the owner keeps letting him out and can't keep track of him and he says there are gators nearby. Adopted again in 2026 and then was dumped at Sarasota Animal Services due to domestic violence in his home. He will jump a fence if left unattended. He doesn't tend to do it if he is out with another dog. He is just super intelligent! He's now approximately 10 years old and weighs 41 lbs. He is extremely active and lets his nose guide him like a typical hound. He is very strong. He does know basic commands. Meet and greet required if you have another dog. He is heartworm negative. Call or text Alexandra 330-261-3934 if you can adopt. The adoption donation is $100 and includes neuter, UTD vaccines, and microchip.
