Gus's Story

Hi! My name is Gus & I'm a 4 year old neutered tricolor beagle mix! I'm a very sweet boy! I'm so loving & lovable! I'm used to being around women and children. Men might make me nervous at first. But after a couple of weeks, I will be your best bud! I like to be with people. And so when someone is home, I will follow them all around the house! I'm also very playful! I like to play fetch & tug-of-war, and chew on antlers! I'm an energetic fellow! But if my people just want to chill out on the couch, I'll be happy to chill with them. I lived with another dog, Murphy, who is also available for adoption. We like each other, but we're not bonded - so it's totally fine for us to go to different homes. I'm good with cats also! The cat who I used to live with liked it when I chased her around the house. Then she would chase me back! I'm also housetrained & crate trained. I'm used to going outside every 4 to 6 hours during the day. I will go to the door when I need to go outside. If you don't let me out, then I might come & look at you. I like to sleep on the couch & hang out with my person! At night, I will sleep in my dog bed - but I would much rather sleep with my person! I'm used to eating my meals in the crate with the door open. But it is best to crate me when no one is home - otherwise, I will find things to get into. I can be rambunctious riding in a car - so you might want to leave me home. I'm already neutered & up-to-date on vaccines. Now I just need a forever home! Are you it?? Please think about making me part of your family! I weigh about 45 lbs. In the one photo, I'm hanging out with a rabbit! Kennel License #4068

Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue dog & Nittany Beagle Rescue! We are a foster-home based rescue. We hold showings on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month at Lyons Kennels in Bellefonte, PA from 11am - 1pm. You can meet some of our dogs then! Please email or send a PM on our FB page if you want to know if a particular dog will be at the showing. If you are interested in a particular dog, or a type of dog, please submit an application to foster or adopt (it's the same application form). Once you have an approved application for a dog, we will connect you with the dog's foster parent. Typically the potential adopter & foster talk on the telephone first. Then if the dog seems like a good fit, we arrange a personal meet & greet.
