Gus's Story
Fostered in North Carolina

Gus,

does the tail wag the dog or the dog wag the tail? What if there isn't a tail? Gus lost most of his tail, but that only makes him more handsome! He could be the next Playgirl model! And he is a total goof ball, plus 100 percent love bug! He will make you laugh almost every minute! And loves to cuddle with you!

Dog name: Gus

Gender: Male neutered

Age: 2 year old

Breed: Yellow Lab

Medications: Heartworm neg. Appropriate monthly flea and tick prevention.

Good with people? Yes, loves people, very friendly.

children? Unknown, but probably is. He doesn't jump on people. Probably kids 10 yo and above.

Dogs? Friendly, loves all dogs! Fostered with 3, from 4 yo - 10 yo. From 40 lbs to 60 lbs. And a 60 lb foster dog.

Cats? Unknown

Other animals? Unknown

House trained? Yes

Crate trained? Yes, will bark initially but then settles. Also good left loose in the home.

Energy level: low-med loves his bed(my bed), snuggles on the couch, bones. Ball fanatic. Playing with a friend. Doing zoomies occasionally.

Travel well? Yes, rides well in a car. Probably one of his favorite things!

Favorite toy/activity: Being with his people, chewing on a bone, playing with a friend. Balls, balls and more balls. Tug of war.

Leash trained? Does well, will pull starting out, but is an easy trainer. Still learning. Greets people, no jumping.

No tail, no problem..mostly, This guy had to have his tail removed, due to an injury, so his future family might occasionally need to give his booty a quick wipe after potty breaks. It's a tiny price to pay for a whole lot of love.

Fence not required, but would love to chase balls. Dog friend with similar energy preferred but not required. Active family preferred.
